Dinmore Manor is no longer open to the public.
Dinmore Manor is located in beautiful Herefordshire countryside at an elevation of around 500ft above sea level, which affords spectacular views extending to the Malvern Hills.
The gardens at Dinmore Manor are compact but very attractive, and include a rock garden, a collection of acers and a water garden. The house overlooks the garden and lawn, and cloisters flank it to the right. The back wall of the cloisters features stained glass windows through which streams coloured light onto the supporting columns in the late afternoon.
The entire garden is on a huge terrace, on one side of which is a 12th Century Chapel. Adjacent to the chapel is a Yew Tree, reputed to be 1200 years old!
The Music Room in Dinmore Manor is actually a hall with a vaulted ceiling and a Victorian Aeolian Pipe Organ.
Dinmore Manor is in such a peaceful and tranquil setting, it's a pity that it is no longer open to the public.
Queenswood Aboretum is a short distance away, and just slightly further is The Weir - a riverside National Trust garden. Closer still, just the other side of the A49 in fact, is Hampton Court, which is well worth a visit.
The next nearest large town to Hereford is Ludlow.
